It all started 25 years ago in a little shed in the backyard. We think a lot of breweries have started like this. We worked over many years and through countless regulations to create our little piece of beer paradise. We built the brewery from scratch, hand crafted and a little different to most commercial breweries.
We would be classed as a Nano-brewery to most microbreweries, but this gives us the flexibility to produce and experiment with beers that other larger breweries are unable to replicate.
Our beers are brewed traditionally. We are passionate about growing and using as many local, organic and raw products as possible in our beers and cider.
We use no chemicals at all in the brewery or on our farm and we aim to be sustainable with the water we harvest from the sky and power we generate from the sun. We try hard to reduce waste and packaging were ever possible. We care about our environment and the food we eat and drink and we hope most people feel the same way.

Home Grown – Single Origin Beer
Our homegrown beer range has been a great success. So this season we have increased our crop size to keep up with demand. It’s been a great season and we are set to harvest our Wheat in January, Barley at the start of February and Maize in April. The Hops are producing an exceptional crop this year…….. varieties of hops including Saaz, Chinook, Tettnang, Golding and Fuggles, as well as our original planting of Pride of Ringwood and Willamette and what a bumper crop, the hop flowers will be used in our Pale Ale.
Bring in the Gold….. Maris Otter Project
Maris Otter is very famous old English variety of Barley, is not grown in Australia commercially, so we thought we’d try to grow it here. Strathbogie has the right climate for this variety so we started with 20gms of Maris Otter Barley from the Hamilton Seed Bank. It has taken 3 years to produce enough seed for a crop. We have harvested our first crop in January 2020…. Amazing….. We are very happy with the growth and yield and now for the next project……Malting….
Development of the Cream Ale has been interesting process. Finding the right corn to grown in Strathbogies climate. We have a short season and no irrigation but our search has paid off producing a beautiful healthy crop of corn. The corn is then de-cobbed and dried in an air dryer and stored ready to make beer. Our end goal is to make a Gluten Free Beer with the maize – so much to do so little time….
